Water Softeners

Water Softeners

In terms of saving money, energy and time, softening water is the most economical thing that can be done in the home.

You’ll save energy because your appliances are not heating limescale. A 3mm layer of scale on a heat exchanger in a boiler will add 15% to the cost of heating hot water. Imagine that cost compounded by your dishwasher, washing machine, and every electric shower.

You’ll save money because:

  • the average cost of a softener is recouped over ~5 years. Most of the softeners we sell (and rent out), come with a 10-year parts warranty and don’t need annual servicing.
  • in a hard water area, everything you buy for cleaning the home is either no longer needed, not needed as much, or can be replaced with a cheaper product.
  • appliances which use water will remain in better condition and consume less energy than with hard water. They’ll also require less maintenance and repair, and fewer replacements.

The softener is most often installed under the kitchen sink, however, it can be installed wherever best suits you and your home.
